Lunar Cycles
Let’s start the weekend with a bit of fun!
The Byrds singing “Turn, Turn, Turn” talks about “the seasons”.
They were far more important a hundred years ago when WD Gann was trading when a far larger proportion of the population lived in the country. Now most folks are concentrated in cities near the coast and the seasons are not so important to their economic well being.
But the moon still shines brightly and anybody who pokes their head outside tonight will notice it is a full moon!
A time of “high emotion” you may say! The dogs howling in the distance!
Can you trade by the lunar cycles? Well we do not here but it is interesting to note the important dates on your trading calendar as sometimes a full moon for example may correlate with a time of high emotion on the stock market.
Lets pull down a recent chart of the SPX where I have circled the full moons..
What more can I say?
Added: For all those “lunartics” out there guess when the next Full Moon falls due? 13 Mar – just before the FOMC Meeting!
I have that marked as a high on the SPX – another WD Gann “inversion” Surf!
Uncanny and well worth watching it would seem.
Looks like your last Lunar cycle was a Gann inversion….
Sir Norvast , I always knew you were a bit of a luartic
🙂
Any real correlation to Gold? I just started backtesting the last few months last night with New and Full moons for fun and haven’t found much yet.
I agree!
I have found a stronger correlation between gold and seasonal dates (22 Dec, 20 Mar, 21 Jun, 23 Sep, 21 Dec and 1/8 divisions between dates)
Interesting… that last week of March has several convergences heading its way. Thanks!
